Why We Collect and Process CCTV Data
Legacy Studios uses CCTV (closed-circuit television) within all of its premises (including studios, communal areas, entrances, stairwells, and corridors) in order to:

Protect the life, safety, and welfare of staff, customers, and visitors.

Safeguard our property, assets, and equipment, and assist with investigations into fraud or other financial risks.

Support the identification, apprehension, and prosecution of offenders in relation to crimes or breaches of our Terms & Conditions.
CCTV footage is not used for marketing or promotional purposes.
What Data is Collected

Video recordings only (no audio).

In certain locations, accredited security providers may also use Body-Worn Video (BWV) cameras, which capture video and audio when activated.
Who Controls the Data
Legacy Studios Ltd is the Data Controller for all CCTV recordings. Our appointed Security Manager oversees CCTV operations and ensures compliance with GDPR and data protection law.
Access to Data

Access to live or recorded footage is limited to Legacy Studios’ security team, authorised management, and contracted SIA-accredited security providers.

Footage will only be disclosed to third parties (such as police or local authorities) where required for investigation, legal proceedings, or law enforcement purposes.
Data Access, Modification & Deletion Rights

Customers do not have direct access to CCTV footage.

In the event of an incident, relevant footage will be released directly to law enforcement.

CCTV reports written by security staff may be corrected if inaccurate — requests can be made via info@studionearme.uk.

You may request deletion of personal data if you believe processing is unlawful; requests will be reviewed under GDPR.
Retention and Erasure

CCTV recordings are automatically deleted after 31 days, unless retained for an investigation or legal purpose.

In cases of ongoing investigations or legal claims, recordings may be kept up to 2 years, but no longer.
Security of Data
We use technical and organisational safeguards to protect CCTV data against unauthorised access, disclosure, or misuse.
Trials and Technology

People Counting (if applicable): Legacy may trial people-counting technology using limited CCTV snippets, securely stored and deleted within 30 days.

Facial Recognition: Any CCTV equipment with facial recognition or detection functions will remain disabled. Legacy Studios does not use facial recognition or biometric processing.
Your Rights

You have the right to object to CCTV processing if you have legitimate reasons relating to your situation. Requests should be sent to info@studionearme.uk and will be addressed within 15 working days.

Complaints can also be directed to our Data Protection Officer (DPO) at info@studionearme.uk.

If unsatisfied, you may escalate a complaint to the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Changes to this Notice
This Notice may be updated periodically. Updates will be posted on our website, and we encourage you to review it regularly.
